Find your saved broadcast recording

Learn where local recordings are saved on your device

Updated this week

If you have Recordings enabled, your live events are recorded to a default location on your device (rather than directly to our servers).

This article will show you where to find your saved broadcast recording and troubleshooting steps to follow if you can’t find a recording.

Open your Recordings window

Recorded broadcast events are saved as audio files to a local folder, which can be accessed via your Recordings window.

There are two ways to open your Recordings window from the Creators apps:

  • After a live event, or

  • Via the Recordings tab

After a live event

Immediately after closing a live event, you will see a screen confirming the live event has ended. You can access your Recordings window from here.

  1. Select View saved recording

  2. This will pull up your Recordings window

Via the Recordings tab

To view your Recordings window in your Creators app:

  • Select the Recordings tab

  • Choose Local recordings from your options

From your Recordings window, you can access your local audio file to upload, listen back or delete from your device.

Important: If you delete a recording via the Recordings window this will permanently delete the local recording, so don't click the trash icon unless you are sure you want to delete the file.

On mobile

From your Recordings window on your mobile app, you can:

On desktop

From your Recordings window on your desktop app, you can:

To access the audio file, click the magnifying glass icon to reveal where your recording is saved on your local drive.

This will bring up the local folder where your recordings are saved, with the recording that you've selected being highlighted:

Why is my recording missing?

If you have not deleted your local recording, here are some reasons why your recording may not be listed in your Recordings window.

  • Do you have the REC button enabled?
It’s possible the REC button was toggled off prior to starting your broadcast. Check the status of your REC button via your audio settings.

  • Do you have sufficient disk space on your device?
If a recording is missing or only partially recorded, you may have accidentally toggled the REC button off mid-broadcast, or your device has insufficient disk space to make the recording. Please check your device’s storage settings.

  • Did you broadcast from a different computer or mobile device?
Recordings are saved on a local folder, so if a live event was run from a different computer or mobile device, the local recording will be found there rather than the device you are currently using. Please check the local recordings on the other device.
