Upload external audio files to Mixlr
Add audio files recorded outside of Mixlr to your Recordings library on your channel.
As well as uploading recordings of your live events, you can upload audio files recorded anywhere — in a studio, on another platform, or with any recording software.
Note: External uploads count towards your recording capacity limit. The limit depends on your plan. See our plans.
On the Mixlr website
1. From Recordings in the left-hand navigation, select Upload new.
2. Drag and drop your audio file onto the upload area, or select the button to browse your files.
3. Add your recording details — title, description, and any other settings.
4. Once the progress bar shows the upload is ready, select Save recording.
To cancel an upload in progress, select the X icon in the top-right corner of the upload screen.
In Mixlr for Creators
5. Go to the Recordings tab and select Upload audio.
6. Select the audio file you want to upload from your device.
7. Add your recording details at the Edit recording screen.
8. Select Save.
Editing before you upload
If you want to trim, silence, or adjust a recording before uploading it, you can import it into Mixlr Studio and edit it there. See Import a recording in Mixlr Studio and Edit a recording in Mixlr Studio.
