Updated over a month ago

You can turn Chat on or off at any time.

Many creators grow a loyal audience through live chat, while many others turn Chat off to focus solely on the audio. Whichever requirement you have, it's easy to update your chat settings to suit your event needs.

This article will show you how to update your event settings to turn Chat on or off.

Scroll down to the Event chat section. Here you'll be able to see whether your chat is currently on or off.

Turn Chat on or off

By default, Chat is enabled on all channels.

Turn Chat OFF

  • Check the Disable chat box

  • Select Save

If you frequently turn Chat on and off, it might be easier to leave Chat turned ON as the default Channel setting and you can choose to turn it OFF from your broadcast screen the next time you go live, or while broadcasting live.

Enable GIFs

You can also enable GIFs to be posted in your event chat on this page. Your GIFs setting can only be updated if Chat is turned on.

Turn GIFs OFF

  • Uncheck the box for GIFs in chat enabled

  • Select Save

Turn GIFs ON

  • Check the box for GIFs in chat enabled

  • Select Save

When GIFs are enabled, you and your listeners will be able to post GIFs in the chat by selecting the GIF icon in the chat window.
