Find your recordings on your device

Learn where your locally saved broadcast recordings are stored and how to access them.

When recording is enabled, your live events are saved as audio files to a local folder on your device. This article explains how to find those recordings and what to do if one is missing.

Open your local recordings

After a live event

• Mixlr Studio: the recording opens automatically in the Recordings window as soon as the broadcast ends.

• Mixlr for Creators (mobile): a confirmation screen will appear. Select View saved recording to open your Recordings window.

Via the app

• Mixlr Studio: in the menu bar, select Recordings > Recordings.

• Mixlr for Creators (mobile): select the Recordings tab at the bottom > On my device.

Important: Deleting a recording from the Recordings window permanently removes it from your device. Don't select the trash icon unless you're sure you want to delete the file.

Access the audio file on your computer

In Mixlr Studio, you can open the local folder where a recording is saved. In your Recordings window, find the recording, click on the three dots and select show in finder.

Your file manager will open with the recording highlighted in its folder. From here you can copy, move, or open the file in any audio application.

Recording missing?

If a recording isn't showing up in your Recordings window, here are the most common reasons:

• Recording wasn't enabled. The Record button may have been off before you went live. Check your recording settings before your next broadcast. See Record your live broadcast.

• Not enough storage on your device. If your device ran out of disk space during a broadcast, the recording may be incomplete or missing entirely. Check your device's available storage.

• You broadcast from a different device. Recordings are saved locally, so if you went live from a different computer or phone, the file will be on that device — not the one you're checking now.
