How to go live on Mixlr
Start a live broadcast on Mixlr using Mixlr Studio on desktop or Mixlr for Creators on mobile.
To go live on Mixlr, open Mixlr Studio (Windows or Mac) or Mixlr for Creators (iOS or Android), then press Start to broadcast immediately or select a scheduled event from the Choose event dropdown. Your broadcast goes live the moment you press Start, and ends when you press Stop.
Before you start
To go live on Mixlr, you’ll need:
• The Mixlr app — download Mixlr Studio or Mixlr for Creators if you haven’t already: https://creators.mixlr.com/download
• An active Mixlr account — sign up for a free or paid account if you don’t have one yet: https://mixlr.com/priceplans
• A working microphone — your device’s built-in mic is fine to get started.
Option 1: Go live instantly
1. Open Mixlr Studio or Mixlr for Creators and log in.
2. Press the Start button. Your broadcast goes live immediately.
3. Your event is automatically given a default title and image — you don’t need to set these up before going live, though you can edit them at any time.
4. When you’re ready to finish, press the Stop button.
Option 2: Start a scheduled event
1. Open Mixlr Studio or Mixlr for Creators and log in.
2. Click the Choose event dropdown. Any upcoming scheduled events will appear here.
3. Select your event from the list.
4. Press Start to go live. You can start early — you don’t have to wait for the scheduled start time.
5. Press Stop when you’re ready to finish.
Scheduling an event in advance lets you promote it to your audience before it happens.
After you stop
When you press Stop, your event ends. Make sure recording is switched on before you go live if you want to capture it. See: Record your live event for further information. Mixlr saves a local recording to your device automatically. You can then upload that recording to the cloud to make it available on-demand.
