Set your live event to private
Choose who can access your live event on Mixlr — broadcast publicly, to a select audience, or privately.
By default, your live events are set to Public — visible to everyone on Mixlr and searchable in the app and on mixlr.com. You can restrict access using Unlisted to share with a select audience, or use Only me to broadcast entirely privately.

Access levels explained
Public
• Visibility: appears on your channel, searchable on mixlr.com and in the Mixlr apps
• Access: anyone can join
• Notifications: followers are notified when you go live
• Best for: reaching the widest possible audience
Unlisted
• Visibility: does not appear on your channel and is not searchable on Mixlr
• Access: anyone with a direct link can join
• Notifications: no notifications sent to followers
• Best for: private shows, exclusive streams, or events for a select group
Note: If your channel requires an access code, listeners will still need to enter it to access Public or Unlisted events.
Only me
• Visibility: does not appear on your channel and is not searchable on Mixlr
• Access: only you, when logged in, can access the event
• Notifications: no notifications sent
• Best for: testing your setup and practice sessions
How to change the access level
When scheduling an event
1. Select Schedule from your Creators dashboard.
2. Scroll to the Access level section in the Event options.
3. Choose Public, Unlisted, or Only me.
4. Select Schedule event.
From the broadcast screen
1. Select Edit from the broadcast screen.
2. Scroll to the Access level section.
3. Choose Public, Unlisted, or Only me.
4. Select Save.
You can do this just before going live or while you're already broadcasting.
Set a default access level
Tip: If you regularly broadcast to a select audience, set a default access level so you don't have to change it each time you go live. See: Set your default event settings.
