Set your channel to private access
Restrict who can find and listen to your channel on Mixlr.
⚡ Only available on selected paid plans. See our plans
By default, your Mixlr channel is publicly available to listeners worldwide. You can restrict access in two ways: by hiding your channel from search results, or by requiring listeners to enter a private access code.
Get to your access settings
1. Select the settings icon in the top-right corner of your Creators dashboard.
2. Under Channel settings, select Access.
Hide your channel
Tick Hide my channel and select Save.
Your channel will no longer appear in Mixlr search results or the Listen section. Listeners can still reach you through:
• Notifications sent to your followers
• The Following section, if they already follow you
• A direct link to your channel URL
Add an access code
Tick Add an access code and select Save. An access code is automatically generated for you.
Note: Custom access codes are not currently supported.
Share the code with your listeners however you like. Once a listener enters it, they won't need to enter it again.
Tip: Add your contact details to your channel page — such as an email address or social media link — so listeners know how to request the code.
Generate a new code
To invalidate old codes and issue a new one, return to Channel settings > Access and select Generate new access code. All previous codes will stop working immediately.
Your embedded live player
If you set an access code, your embedded live player will be restricted too — listeners will need to enter the code to access it. See Add the Mixlr live player to your website.
Email notifications
When you go live, email notifications are sent to your followers. In-app notifications are not sent, to help keep your broadcast secure.
Remove privacy settings
Return to Channel settings > Access and uncheck Hide my channel, Add an access code, or both. You can enable and disable these settings as often as you like.
Live stream URL
If you share your channel's Live Stream URL be aware that the access code does not protect it. Use the embedded live player instead if you want to keep your stream private.
