Set up an FX Board in Mixlr Studio
Play sound effects, ads, and one-off audio clips as part of your live event or recording.
The FX Board is an input channel you can add in Mixlr Studio. It lets you trigger sound effects, ads, or audio clips with a single click during a live broadcast or recording session. Each click plays the sound once, and you can trigger multiple sounds at the same time. All audio file formats are supported.
Add an FX Board channel
1. In the channel area, select the + icon.
2. From the input list, select FX Board.
A new FX Board channel appears in the channel area, and the FX Board window opens where you manage its audio files.
Add sounds to the FX Board
In the FX Board window, select one of the numbered FX pads to browse your files and choose the audio you want to add. Each pad holds one audio file. Once a sound is added, the filename and duration are displayed on the pad.
Note: All audio file formats are supported.
Play sounds during your broadcast
Click any FX pad to trigger its sound during your broadcast. Each click plays the sound once, and you can trigger multiple pads at the same time.
To stop all currently playing sounds, select the stop icon in the top left of the FX Board window.
Tip: Make sure monitoring is enabled on the FX Board channel so you can hear your sounds as you play them.
Remove or replace a sound
Each pad with a sound loaded shows an options menu in its top right corner. Select it to either load a new sound onto the pad or remove the existing one.
