How to play audio files in Mixlr Studio
Use playlists in Mixlr Studio to play music and audio files alongside your live broadcast.
Mixlr Studio lets you add playlist channels to play audio files during your broadcast — music, pre-recorded content, jingles, or anything else you want your listeners to hear. Each playlist channel appears alongside your other inputs, and Mixlr Studio automatically advances to the next track when one finishes. All audio file formats are supported.
Add a playlist channel
1. In the channel area, click the + icon.
2. Hover over Playlists in the menu.
3. Select + New playlist.
A new playlist channel appears, and a playlist window opens where you manage its tracks.
Add sounds to your playlist
In the playlist window, click + Add sounds to browse and select the audio files you want to add. You can add as many tracks as you like. Each track displays the artist name, filename, and duration.
Reorder your tracks
To change the order tracks will play in, drag the handle on the left side of any track up or down to its new position.
Playback controls
The playlist window includes controls at the bottom for managing playback:
• Play/pause — start or pause playback.
• Previous / Next — skip to the previous or next track.
• Shuffle — play tracks in a random order.
• Loop — repeat the playlist when it reaches the end.
• Single play mode — plays one track and then stops.
Once a track is loaded, transport controls also appear at the bottom of the playlist channel, so you can control playback without keeping the playlist window open.
Rename or delete a playlist
In the playlist window, click the three-dot menu next to the playlist name. Select Rename to give your playlist a new name, or Delete Playlist to remove it entirely.
