How to route audio from another application to your Mixlr broadcast
Capture audio from other software to include as part of your Mixlr broadcast.
Mixlr Studio enables you to route audio from any other open audio application — such as a streaming app, media player, browser, or calling software like Zoom or Google Meet — and include it as part of your broadcast.
Note: Make sure the app you want to capture audio from is open before you start — Mixlr Studio can only detect applications that are currently running.
Add an app as an audio source
1. Open Mixlr Studio.
2. Select the source selector at the top of the input channel — this shows Select Source if nothing is connected, or the current input name if one is already set.
Tip: To add your app alongside any existing channels, select the + icon in the channel area.
3. Select Capture App Audio.
4. In the window that opens, select the app you want to add.
5. Play audio in your app — the level meter on that input channel should respond to confirm a signal is being received.
Monitoring with app capture
When capturing audio from another app, the audio will also be played through your computer's main audio output. If you are monitoring through Mixlr Studio at the same time, this can cause an echo.
If your computer has separate audio output options for headphones and speakers (or you're using an external audio interface), select your speakers as your computer's audio output and mute them. This lets you monitor through Mixlr Studio without echo.
If your computer only has a single combined audio output, avoid monitoring the input channel where your app is selected.
