How to add a co-host or guest to your Mixlr broadcast

Connect a remote co-host or guest directly into Mixlr Studio using the co-host feature.

The co-host feature in Mixlr Studio lets you connect a remote guest directly into your broadcast — whether that's a co-host joining from another location, a guest or or a caller from your audience. The person joining doesn't need to install any software; they can connect from a mobile or desktop browser as long as they have a microphone.

Create a co-host session

1. Go to creators.mixlr.com/settings/co-host.

2. Enter a name for the session in the field provided.

3. Select Create co-host session.

Your co-host session will be generated with a unique join code and URL.

Share co-host details

1. Send your guest the join code and co-host URL from the co-host settings page.

2. Your guest visits the co-host URL and enters the join code to connect.

Set up your co-host in Mixlr Studio

1. Select the + icon in the channel area to add a new input channel.

2. Select Co-host.

3. Select the co-host session you want to add.

Co-host connection status

Once you've selected a co-host session in Mixlr Studio, their connection status is shown at the bottom of the input channel.

• Waiting… — the co-host has not connected yet

• Ready — the co-host has connected and is waiting to be admitted

• Reconnecting… — the co-host has a network issue; they will reconnect automatically once resolved

When the status shows Ready, select Admit to connect your co-host into Mixlr Studio. You can then control their audio just like any other input channel.

Note: Your co-host can hear all audio playing in the app — not just audio you are monitoring. Make sure you have a microphone set up so your co-host can also hear you.

To disconnect your co-host at any time, select Disconnect.
