Differences in the live listener count

Why your total listener count may be higher than the number of listeners shown in chat.

During a live event, you'll see a total listener count and a list of usernames in the chat window. These two numbers can differ — here's why.

Why the numbers differ

The total listener count includes everyone tuned in to your broadcast, regardless of whether they have a Mixlr account. The chat window only shows listeners who are logged in to a Mixlr account.

Listeners who won't appear in the chat window include:

• Listeners who are not logged in to a Mixlr account

• Listeners tuning in via an embedded player on an external website

• Listeners using your live stream URL directly

This means the total listener count is always the most accurate picture of your real audience size.

After your broadcast

You'll receive a post-broadcast stats email with a summary of your listener data. For more detailed stats, visit the Stats Dashboard at https://creators.mixlr.com/statistics.

Note: You can hide the live listener count from your event page if you prefer not to display it publicly. See Hide the number of live listeners.
