Broadcast from other iOS apps using Mixlr AudioLink
Use Mixlr AudioLink to route audio from AUv3 host apps like AUM or Logic Pro into Mixlr for Creators on iOS.
Mixlr AudioLink lets you route audio from compatible iOS apps directly into Mixlr for Creators, so you can broadcast audio from a DAW, mixer app, or any other AUv3 host app. This feature is available on iOS only and works with AUv3-compatible apps such as AUM and Logic Pro.
Before you start
You'll need a compatible AUv3 host app installed on your iOS device — for example, AUM or Logic Pro. Make sure your session is set up and audio is playing in your host app before switching to Mixlr for Creators.
Step 1: Set up Mixlr AudioLink in your host app
Open your host app and locate Mixlr AudioLink in the plugin list. It appears as an Audio Unit Extension plugin.
Apply Mixlr AudioLink to the channel or channels you want to broadcast. To capture all audio in your session, route your channels to a mix bus and apply Mixlr AudioLink as an effect on the mix bus.
Keep your host app open. If you close the host app, Mixlr AudioLink will become unavailable in Mixlr for Creators. Open your host app and load your session before launching Mixlr for Creators.
Step 2: Select AudioLink in Mixlr for Creators
1. Open Mixlr for Creators on your iOS device.
2. On the broadcast screen, tap the audio settings icon.
3. In the Audio source section, tap your current input to view all available options.
4. Under the Mixlr AudioLink heading, select AudioLink.
5. Dismiss the audio settings. If audio is playing in your host app, the channel meter should show that audio is being received.
6. Tap Start to go live.
