Add Audio devices, playlists and FX in Mixlr Studio

Build your broadcast or recording mix with multiple audio devices, playlists, and an FX Board in Mixlr Studio.

Mixlr Studio lets you add multiple input channels to your session, giving you full control over your audio mix. Each channel appears in the channel area with its own volume fader, monitoring, and mute controls. There are three channel types to choose from.

Note: The number of audio channels and playlists you can add depends on your plan. See our plans.

Channel types

• Audio device — connects a live audio source such as a microphone or audio interface. You can add multiple audio devices to your session.

• Playlist — loads a queue of pre-recorded audio files that play in sequence. You can add multiple playlist channels, each with its own set of tracks.

• FX Board — lets you trigger one-off sounds using up to 12 pads. Only one FX Board can be added per session.

Add a channel

1. In the channel area, select the + button.

2. Choose the channel type from the list.

The new channel appears in the channel area. You can add as many audio devices and playlists as your plan allows.

Audio channels

Once you've added an audio device, select the audio source from the dropdown at the bottom of the channel strip to connect your microphone or audio interface.

Playlists

A playlist channel holds multiple audio files that play in sequence. Load your audio files into the channel, then use the transport controls at the bottom of the channel strip to play, skip forward, or skip back through your playlist.

Tip: You can name each playlist channel to keep your mix organised — for example, Intro, Adverts, or Outro.

Stop all channels

To stop all channels at once, select Stop All in the Controls section on the right side of Mixlr Studio.
