Update the access level for your uploaded recordings

Updated this week

Uploading your Mixlr recordings allows you to store all your recordings in one place online.

However, you may want some recordings to be accessible to your listeners, and others to be private. This article will show you how to update the access level for one or more of your uploaded recordings.

Recordings page

  1. Select the Recordings icon in the top right of your Creators dashboard to go to your Recordings page

  2. From your Recordings page, select the recordings that you want to change to private by adding a tick ✔️ next to it

It's also possible to update an individual recording and change the access level alongside other recording details such as title, artwork and more.

  1. After choosing your recordings, select the Move button by the top of the Recordings page

  2. From the dropdown menu that appears, select your preferred private access level

(TIP: You can also move recordings to Trash from here to make room for more file uploads)

Access levels explained

There are three access level settings for your recordings:

  • Public recordings are accessible on your Channel

  • Unlisted recordings are not displayed on your Channel's main page or Recordings page, so this is a useful option if you want to share a recording with specific listeners by sending them the direct URL (they are also accessible in any Collections they’ve been added to)

  • Only me recordings are completely hidden from your listeners and only accessible by you via your Creators dashboard

Access level tabs

After selecting the new access level, the recordings will be moved to their new folder in your Creators space, which you can view at any time by selecting the access level tab (or by selecting ALL):

You can also make recordings publicly available again at any time by following the steps above and moving them back to Public instead of a private access level.

If your Channel is private, your recordings will only be accessible via your access code. Find out how to make your Channel private here.
