In this article we’ll show you how to go live from your iOS device.

TIP - by default the iOS Creators app will use your device's built in microphone as an audio source. Click here to find out how to broadcast from a different audio source.

Install the app

You can download our app directly from the App Store here.

If you already have a Mixlr account, sign into your Mixlr account.

If you don’t have an account, you will need to register with Mixlr before broadcasting. Click ‘Create one’ at the bottom of the screen.

Home screen

This is where you'll see key information and stats about your Mixlr account.

To get started, tap the red dotted button at the bottom of the screen.

Edit title

Press “x” near the top right of the screen in order to change the default title of your broadcast.

Alternatively, you can click on the existing title and edit directly.

Change your mind? Hit “close” to return to the home screen.

Go live

Tap the red button to go live. Your status will change from off-air to LIVE NOW, and your waveform will turn red to indicate you are currently on-air.

By default, your broadcast will be saved as a high-quality recording in the app.

TIP: Your audio quality settings for your live stream does not affect your recordings. Click here to learn more about switching audio quality to match your content.

Chat

To check out the chat room, swipe right to visit the next screen.

You can also tap the speech bubble on the bottom right to chat with listeners.

Share your live audio stream

Tap the share icon on the bottom left corner to share a direct link to your live broadcast!

End your live audio stream

To end your broadcast, press the red square at the bottom. You’ll be asked to confirm this action just in case.

Manage your recordings

After completing your broadcast, you can choose to publish your recording now, or save it to the device to publish later.

If you choose to publish later, your recordings will be stored under “Saved Recordings.”

When you’re ready to publish, click the red arrow pointing upward on the left.

Publishing will upload your recording to the Showreel, so your audience can listen back on-demand.

TIP: To manage any published Showreel recordings, you will need to visit your dashboard settings on mixlr.com. You can read more about using the Showreel in this article.
